Ethics in Information Technology Assignment
Automation of Jobs is the future of jobs which includes the various aspects of jobs which are done by the machines or automated. The automation of jobs is quick and sophisticated work of jobs which provides the company with the easiness in job work. In the opinion of Reynolds (2011), the automation is to provide the automated work which provides help to the human body and make the work fast then before. The ethics are the values, morals, standards which are expected by the business to follow those as the company gets the benefit of working on ethics. The ethics are the values and standards which the company considers while working. Information technology is the sector which includes the computers and machines for the use of work. Information technology explains different aspects of technology which improves the information sector. This essay includes the various information related automation of jobs and their impact on the working of the organizations. The automation of jobs impacts the organization by providing influence on organizational operations (Reynolds, 2011). The impact of automation of jobs reduce the employment opportunities as the company promoted to the machines and reduced the human resource. The different classical ethical theories are also discussed in this essay.
Rozenfeld (2016), explains that the article took on the automation of jobs includes the information related to the automation and its impact on the jobs as well as the near future of the automation. The automation provides the various substitutions and eliminates the work of organizational employees. Automation has changed the scenario of the whole world. With the effect of automation, the job opportunities are reduced and this provided the ultimate decline to the employment graph as well as the rise to the unemployment graph. The automation comes from the technology which provided the nature harm and the easy-ness to human. To minimize the human efforts the companies are going automated. This automation is the improvement in the society but has an ultimate loss to the economy. The ultimate effect of the automation is on the less employment and the laziness in human efforts (Rozenfeld, 2016).
The various theories which are considered for this study of automation of jobs are Utilitarianism theory, Deontology theory, Virtue theory and Contract theory. The theories and the consideration of these theories with the automation of jobs are included in this. According to Marques (2015), Utilitarianism theory is based on the end result. This theory does not consider the intentions or the action but the end result is important according to this theory. The theory implies that the action of the organization or the intentions related to the organization are not considered if the end result is good or worthy. The theory implemented will enable the organization to put their efforts in whichever direction it intends to be but the ultimate result of the implementation should be correct of good. This theory completely focuses on the end result rather than intentions of actions. The strength of Utilitarianism theory is to consider the wellbeing of the society and overrules the considerations of the selfish character of an organization. The weakness of Utilitarianism theory is that for the general belief of ultimate good end result the theory is providing wrong and unethical actions which are not in favor (Marques, 2015).
The article says that the automation of jobs has provided the organizations and the corporate sectors as well as a society a huge impact. The corporate sectors are getting the ultimate benefit of the automation by reducing the workload and activities of human efforts. But for the society the automation has provided the laziness to the people and making them habitual of the machines. According to the theory, it is ethical and considerable but in the point of view of society the unethical actions are not considerable.
According to Garbutt and Davies (2011), Deontology theory explains that the ethics of duty should be considered and one person should do their part in relation and consideration with another person. The actions of the person must be good regardless of the effect of common good. The consequences of this theory are that the actions or the intention of the organization must be good and correct regardless the outcome of the organization action. This theory is the contradicting the Utilitarianism theory. The theory explains that the actions and intentions of the person describe the result. For this, the organization must consider the ultimate goals of the organization and take the correct actions (Garbutt and Davies, 2011).
The theory explained the ethical good and its consequences of doing well. The automation of jobs is the creative and good step of an organization as it is providing the greater growth opportunities and quick working techniques but with this, the society and people are affected as they get the least jib opportunities and economy loses. This theory impacted that the people are getting affected as they lose the jobs and economy are affected.
As per the words of Broad (2014), the virtue theory describes that the aspect which matters the most is the thinking of the person rather than the actions or the intentions of the person. The ethical thinking of the person is more important in this context. To make the ethical understanding firstly the mental ability of thinking of a person needs to be ethical. The ethical thinking is considered in this theory rather than the positive or negative actions or intentions. The virtue theory is based on ethical thinking.
The automation of jobs includes the positive thinking of providing easiness and quick working of the operations of the organization. The automation of jobs is provided with the ethical and moral thinking of organization regarding provide the faster work and less human efforts. The machines are used to make the task easy and fast. The automatic machines are the ethical and effective thinking according to the virtue theory.
In the words of Liu et.al (2014). Contract theory defines the rules of the contract and the contract law. The theory describes that just like in the contract the ethical actions must be taken to complete the tasks. The ethical actions and the intention of the parties must be clear and in the favor of society. The unethical action or intention is a punishable offense. Therefore according to the theory the organization must use the actions which are ethical and it should be communicated with the society. All new innovation and developments should be ethical and communicated properly (Liu et.al, 2014).
Under this case of automation of jobs, the organization trying something new should consider the various actions ethical and should communicate the changes with the organizational employees and other concern people. The ethical operations of an organization are important and should be considered by them.
From the above study, the ethical ad unethical concerns are discussed which provided the conclusion that the organizations must follow the ethics, morals, values and standards for completing the operations. The organizations also provide various aspects of development. The organization and its development should consider the ethical aspects and society benefits. The actions and the intentions of the company in providing the services must provide the ethics and standards in it. This is the major consideration of the essay which provides the concern of information technology and the ethics together.
