The essay nears a conclusion with the discussion on the ways in which the knowledge gathered would help me in my future work life.

Section 1

In this module was discussed the various matters that are related to the concept of professional communication as a whole. The study has helped me to understand the proper meaning of the term professional communication. The professional communication refers to the communication that is initiated for the achievement of the various strategic goals that have been set by the concerned organization. The professional communication assists in the successful attainment of the various goals that are adopted by the concerned business organization. The ethical communication within the given organization aims to deal with the clarity, honesty, democracy, respect and the logical presence within the communication. The main purpose of communication within the company is to help the concerned members of the workforce of the organization to gain insight on the matters that are related to the overall goals of the company (Neuliep, 2017). The business communication is generally related to the activities of informing, persuading and entertaining the concerned members of the workforce of the organization. The concerned module also discusses the various models of communication.

The key elements that are needed to implement the proper communication within an organization are the various matters that are related to the source of the message and the medium that is used for the conveyance of the message and the recipient of the message. The source of the message is also known as the encoder of the message. The message is then passed on to the concerned recipient through the concerned medium. The message is decoded by the concerned recipient with or without the help of an interpreter. The subject further helps in the discussion on the matters that are related to the correct use of the grammar in the written modes of communication among the various members of the workforce of an organization. The sixth week lecture has helped me to learn about the various issues that are related to the speaking in public. The lecture of the sixth week has helped me to learn the nuances of the public oration. The seventh week of the course majorly focusses on the intercultural communication that has been in practice in the various business organizations. The eighth week helped in the matters that are related to the communications within the various business organizations that have been active within the global market. The following weeks have helped me to learn more about the communication processes that might prove to be helpful in the matters related to the communication that should be existent in the groups and within the various teams. The course also helped me to gather knowledge on the matters that are related to the differences between the concepts of the influential communication and the persuasive communication that is majorly practiced by the various communicators. The last week of the course has helped me learn about the interpersonal communication among the various members of the workforce of the concerned organization.

The intercultural communication within the organization generally refers to the communication that takes place among the various members of the organizations who have been belonging to the varying cultures within the given organization (Samovar et al., 2014). The intercultural communication within the given organization further attempts a discussion on the matters that are related to the effects of the cultural background of the employees and the other members of the workforce that have been serving the organization (Tuleja, 2016). The intercultural communication within the given organization attempts to deal with the various factors that are related to the understanding of the multitude of cultures, customs as well as the linguistic behaviors of the concerned employees of the given organization. The intercultural communication within the concerned organization helps in the proper acknowledgement of the employees who have been belonging to the various cultures (Piller, 2017). This helps in the formation of a diversity within the concerned company. The intercultural communication in the modern days is known to be an important factor that is necessary for the proper operations as well as the retention of the employees of the given organization (Chiper, 2015).

The intercultural communication needs to maintain a sound knowledge management on the matters that are related to the three different levels of the culture. These levels include the visible layer comprising of the technological improvements, the behavioral patterns that are depicted by the concerned employees. This layer is followed by the lesser visible layers of the cultural aspects of a person (Martin & Nakayama, 2015). These comprise of the cultural communicational skills that are maintained by the concerned employee within the given workplace. These include the various factors that are related to the norms and the values that they follow in their daily lives. Then third layer of the cultural aspects of a given person is the innermost layer (Ladegaard & Jenks, 2015). This layer is generally not visible from outside and finds a representation through the values and the beliefs as well as the assumptions of the concerned person.

The intercultural communication helps in the interaction between the people who have been belonging to the high and the low context cultures. The major difference that exists between the two types is the fact that relates to the area that is viewed as important. The high-context cultures often view the context to be of a higher priority than the message itself. However, the low context cultures are known to prioritize the message over the other communicational factors. One of the major theories that have been related to the intercultural communication is the theory of the face negotiation (Zhang et al., 2015). The face negotiation theory as proposed by the eminent theorists, Levinson and Brown in the year 1978, attempts a discussion on the various factors that are related to the maintenance of the harmonious working relationships among the various members of the organization. The course that I had undertaken helped me in gaining knowledge of the various concepts of the communication within the business organizations. The knowledge would help me in handling the various challenges that I might face in my future workplaces. The other concept that might immensely help me in my future life is the concept of the competence in the matters of the non-verbal communication as well as the importance of the listening skills. This in turn would help me in bringing about the necessary change in the given organization which in turn would lead to the improvement in the competitive advantage of the concerned business organization in the given market.
