But mobile OS is simple and light as comparison to computer’s and generally manages the local and broadband connection over wireless and other multimedia functions. The mobile OS runs on the device environment with limited resources communication like RAM, storage unit and a CPU. The mobile OS determines the functions and features of the device and also defines various third party apps which are used on the device.
The basic fundamental function of a mobile phone device is communication with help of network. Earlier mobile phones were manufactured to serve this purpose only i.e. text messaging and making and receiving calls. Later on many other features were introduced into the same platform of single OS. Later on many other features were developed like radio FM, camera, internet etc. A simple mobile phone became a multimedia device, from a multimedia device to a smart phone and from smart phone to a pocket PC.
