Objective of assessment tasks

The first objective of assessment task is to support and inspire student learning and establish if the student has succeeded the learning objective against an applied standards.Assessing is the method of gathering and judging evidence in order to decide whether the student has achieved a set standard or objective.

Principles of Assessment

The following four principles of assessment are followed in assessment task:


Plagiarism and collusion

Collusion and plagiarism are both a form of cheating. It is taking and using someone else’s writing, idea or information and demonstrating them as your own. You should ignore plagiarism and collusion in your assessments.

Referencing your work

The students are needed to use the right sources in their work. By doing accurate, you are acknowledging of referencing that you have used someone else’s information and work.You should use APA 6th referencing style. You must reference all sources that you use in your assignment, with ideas and words, statistics, videos, audio, images facts, diagram, website, and data.

Assessment task 1


You must prove knowledge of constant improvement system.


You have to type the answer into a word document.
You have to require written a question in depth responses and answer submit with word count given with each question.


1. Define and explain the purpose of TQM.

2. What elements of a manufacturing environment need to be reduced or eliminated as part of a Lean Manufacturing focus?

3. Make a List of the advantages and types of the six sigma approaches and DMAIC.

4. What is the ‘Five S’ and what are the 5 disciplines? Give an illustration of using each ‘S’ to decrease unused in the place of work.

5. You need to make a sketch a standard distribution curve and spot areas on behalf of 1σ (68.27%), 2σ (95.45%), 3σ (99.74%).

6. Select a problem you have encountered in the workplace or elsewhere and draw a cause and effect diagram to show how causes can be determined.

7. On a statistical process control chart, explain why it is necessary for control limits to be a higher magnitude than customer expectations.

8. You have to Name and draw 2 outlines which are designed by using a histogram and describe what they could represent in your business. Name 2 circumstances for that a scatter diagram should be used.

Assessment Task 2


You must prove skills in leading and facilitating a constant progress project that develops strategies to improve your work outcomes and organizational functioning.  


You can use your own templates.
In task 2 no specific word count required.

According to the scenario, you have to follow this process:

1. Define the scope

Identify a work area and a performance issue (productivity or customer service) for the project.

2. Identify qualitative issues

Identify qualitatively what the main issues that limit performance or effect on customers’ service and collect quantitative data about the business plan of the workplace.

3. Develop the improvement plan

Make an operational plan for the work area and use the operational plan as the basis for describing the outcomes needed for implementing the strategy.

4. Develop project outline

Create a project outline (template provided) and submit to your supervisor/assessor for approval.

5.  Establish your team

You will need to organize:

6. Organize the monitoring process

Specifically, you will need to organize:

Who is going to measure what
When measurement will be occupied, and for how long
How measurement will be occupied and reported
Where measurement is to be kept and for how long.
Training for people who will undertake the measurements.

7. Meeting 1. 

Organize a meeting with team members and explain the project parameters. Inform members of the results of your qualitative analysis. Seek feedback and generate ideas for possible actions and further monitoring. Record the minutes in the template provided.

a. Describe performance management/ role/planning/communication/reward problems by brainstorming with the team member.
b. Identify methods for determining and quantify those issues with the team. Methods may include but are not limited to:

Check sheets
Customer service surveys
Employee surveys
Process maps

8.  Collect the data to quantify the problem

How big is the problem? Record initial state using data, diagrams, photos, KPIs. In some cases, Incident reports, audit reports, customer and employee surveys may provide details of the initial state.

a. Provide suitable tools for your team and organize them to gather data as needed.

9. Analyze the data

Examine the data collected to quantify your qualitative evaluation.

10. Meeting 2

Reconvene with your team. Present the analysis of data and seek feedback.?

a. Upgrade the problem definition statements of the template provided. Define prioritization conditions and priorities solutions using a decision template provided
b. Develop a course of action with a communication strategy and give affirmation from the group the planned course of action.

11.Strategy document

Prepare a strategy document. The strategy document should include appropriate reference to current state, goals, future state, stakeholders, KPIs, costs and benefits. Submit this to your sponsor and stakeholders for approval.

12. Obtain approval

You have to obtain approval your sponsor and stakeholders.

13.  Action plan

You have to deposit your final strategy document with an action plan that describes team roles and communication strategy to your stakeholder and sponsor.

14. Final presentation

You have to include recommendations considerations of consequences for the organization's policies and techniques.
